Check out this HHHHHHOT link
Here is some book related content (for a change). This content was submitted for approval of the New Midnight Society Blog by Member McGuire. For the record, the only books banned from this book club are books with disparaging remarks about Home Alone, Blue II, WrestleMania VII, Gobias Industries, or Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Or The Golden One.
Here's the link, Thanks Ms. Sarah!!!

Lemme lemme lemme lemme up…date ya!
Greetings NMS members. We meet again here at the blog. First and foremost, I want to make sure you all have read and considered the blog post by Member Finkler that directly precedes this one. It’s not too early to start thinking about a date for our next meeting, not if we really want to kick this thing into high gear. Plus, need I remind you that we did talk about having a meeting in early October and 2 before Xmas ’09. So let’s get retarded in here.
Next point of order: some new features on the blog. If you look to your left. Well, maybe up a little and to your left, you’ll see a Navigation area with links to a couple new features we’ve added here at newmidnightsociety.blogspot.com. The first is a link to the minutes from all of our previous meetings, transcribed directly from the official NMS minutes binder to your computer screens. The second is an exciting feature that will allow all of us to share thoughts on other books we are reading outside of the book club. I think we all share the hope that this club is about more than just the regular meetings; it’s about reading, and this is where we can share our feelings about other books we are reading. I want us all to be able to post in this area, obviously, as well as other areas, so I will need to get all of your gmail addresses if you want to do this. So here is the deal. You have to have gmail to post on this blog. If you have it, I’ll send you the info to post in that section. If you don’t have gmail, you have two options. 1) get a gmail account and I’ll hook you up. 2) email me the content that you want to add to this section, and I’ll post it and attribute it appropriately.
L8R dudes,
PRESIDENT TODD

Meeting Date?
Well I'm not going to lie... I have been DYING to post on this board but have failed to think of anything worth posting. Therefore I am posting to clarify the approximate (or exact) date of our next book club. I know the month of August will quickly come to an end and I believe we were looking at September to come together and discuss. Are we ready to set a date? Does anyone with a more difficult schedule to work around want to throw some dates out there? I am usually free after 8pm on most days of the week.

BREAKING NEWS!!!
Attention NMS! I have just learned from a media outlet that the current book club selection, American Pastoral, is now available at local booksellers and the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library. While I am told that booksellers are only giving out copies of the book if you exchange currency with their cashiers, multiple sources are now confirming that the Philip Roth classic can be attained for free at the local library. There is a catch, it’s only a temporary loan and there may be a short waiting list, but we can now say with certainty that this is a completely free option as long as you comply with the terms and conditions of the borrowing agreement. It goes without saying that this is fabulous news for our book club as we all work toward our next meeting. So, whichever option you choose to pursue—or maybe you know of another—happy page turning to you all!

Welcome to the China Club!!!
This blog post is submitted for the approval of the New Midnight Society…
As you can see, this is obviously not the China Club. It's the NMS blog, dummies. And as President of the NMS and creator of this website, it is my honor and privelege to say: Welcome to the official blog of the New Midnight Society! This is a place for all of us NMSers to get in-depth, down, and dirty talking about the current book, literature in general, maybe post some links, hey, who knows? No porno links though. If you have those and you’re looking to spread them, you’ve come to the wrong place. My email address is, however, posted on this site for you to contact me directly. This is our place to get a dialogue going about the book club. There are already a few hot features on this site, but check back regularly because we’ll be adding exclusive NMS content all the time. And remember, this is a forum for all of us to post, and once I figure out how to let all of you guys do that, well then I’ll pass that information along, but until then, get off my fucking back about it. Anyway, I just thought this would be a fun/good way to take our book club to the next level, get some additional commentary, and also archive some of the work we’ve done. Before long I will be adding the notes from previous meetings in posts so that you can all review our thoughts and scores from books past from the comfort of your own couches, bed, toilets, blackberries while you’re in Cirilla’s or wherever it is that you like to do that type of thing. Actually, maybe we’ll even have one of you guys volunteer to input that data for us. I mean, it would hardly be fit for the president to do that work. Yeah, like the guy in the $3,500 suit is gonna spend his time transferring minutes. The point is, we get some posts, some meeting notes, some links to lit reviews, baby we got a book club blog going! I hope we can all participate in and enjoy this site. Let the fun ensue and bowl us over like pins at the end of an alley where friends are playing and laughing together during the holidays. Welcome to the NMS blog. Please use responsibly.
